Top 10 Women in November

November's just around the corner and you know what time it is! Welcome back everyone. How was October for you? Did you do anything fun this Halloween? Well, now that it's a new month, this means we have new women to honor! Before I continue, feel free to check out our series where we feature women every month. So far, we have Top 10 Women in August, Top 10 Women in September, and Top 10 Women in October. Alright, let's dive in!

1. Pimlico Princess

When was the last time you were in a primary classroom? Did you ever pay attention to the details teachers would add during a new season? Maybe you noticed pumpkins in class during October. Well, Ms. Princess does the same! She's a primary school teacher who teaches second grade. She knows this nostalgic feeling and wants to do the same for her students. This November, Ms. Princess decided to transform her classroom into an autumn-themed area that inspires students to think about Thanksgiving. She made sure to put some cozy lighting and would make them do meaningful crafts such as making a Thanksgiving turkey hand or a Thanksgiving Tree. This Thanksgiving Tree allows students to come up one by one and place a leaf that says what they're thankful for. Students end this month by bringing snacks and treats that remind them of Thanksgiving. It's clear Ms. Princess loves her students and wants to make November memorable for them.

2. Lady Charlotte

Have you ever participated in a marathon? Would you be interested to be in one in the future? Well, lucky for you, November's known for its marathons. Lady Charlotte has always resonated November with marathons, as running has always been her passion. She has been participating in these "Thankful Marathons" for the past four years. It started out as a competition between her friends to see which woman was the fastest, but later turned into a passion for Lady Charlotte. She would spend months preparing for this marathon, and when she won, she donated thousands of dollars to local charities. Even though there's unpredictable weather, Lady Charlotte continues to push through with the support of her family. It's important to take some time and reflect on ways you can give back to the community. If you're interested in running, you too should join a marathon in your area!

3. Miss Colindale

We've heard of Valentine's Day tunes and Christmas tunes, but what about November tunes? Miss Colindale is famous for her best Thanksgiving hits, inspiring many to be more thankful this time of the year. Her latest album is called "Never End, November", which focuses on love, togetherness, tradition, and gratitude. Miss Colindale's inspired by the crisp weather and the fall leaves she sees every day on her nature walk. Typically, she performs right before Thanksgiving at the annual "This Year's About Family" festival. Miss Colindale's music has become such a success that famous songwriters heard about her and wanted to feature her in upcoming music. With her soulful yet calming tone, Miss Colindale's album has been a true inspiration for November.

4. Zoey Ziru

Have you recently craved a mouth-watering pumpkin pie? Look no further, as Zoey Ziru is the master of creating seasonal treats. She owns a small business called Z's Z's, a bakery that specialises in making seasonal goodies. Unlike most cafes, Zoey doesn't just make the typical sweet treats. She goes above and beyond to create one-of-a-kind, unique pastries and desserts that match the preference of customers. Customer's favourite so far has been her outstanding pumpkin spice latte. They don't know what it is, but they come back a few times a week to Z's Z's for more! Zoey's inspiration comes from her grandmother, who used to bake treats year-around. Zoey knew that Thanksgiving wasn't known for as many goodies and decided to start her own business that would provide customers with something joyous to eat. Within her cafe, she also had dim lighting to create a welcoming environment and games for customers to play.

5. Ursa Upney

Ursa Upney's dedication for knitting doesn't go unnoticed. She takes the time to create various pieces of clothing from yarn every November, including scarves, mittens, and even blankets! She knows that not everyone is fortunate and she gives her creations to those in shelters and old age homes. Ursa's designs are truly one-of-a-kind! With her vibrant colours and detailed patterns, it's quite clear which knitting pieces are Ursa's and which ones aren't. When Ursa can't directly donate, she spends her time selling her pieces to local markets. The money she raises gets sent to children's hospitals! She often visits these children during November and their gratitude inspires Ursa to keep on helping others. When she's not knitting, Ursa partakes in other crafts like painting and sells those. That money once again goes to people who need it! You too can be like Ursa and take some time to give back to the less fortunate this November!

6. Fran Farringdon

Are you an animal lover? Why not spend this November helping orphaned or injured animals? Fran Farringdon, with the help of her family, takes in these helpless animals into her home. Well, technically, she has a sanctuary attached to her home but you get the idea. Fran's extremely passionate about animals and spends most of her time grabbing food for them, creating makeshift nests, and buying feeding bowls. This November, Fran and her family have taken some pigs and dogs to take care of, as winter is approaching. She's truly a warrior, as she often sacrifices her sleep and time to take care of these helpless animals. Nonetheless, Fran's dedication is admired by many. It's evident that she's passionate about animals and wants what's best for them.

7. Vogue Val

What's better than pumpkins? A pumpkin batch of course. Lucky for you, Val has a pumpkin patch that has drawn the eyes of many. Her pumpkin patch is a favorite amongst her town, and every November, neighbors and community members visit. Val was given this pumpkin patch from her grandparents and has later turned it into a place where others can visit. She knows how much pumpkins correlate to October and November, and wanted to provide others the opportunity to enjoy this. Once a year, Val hosts a festival that has over 100 pumpkins light up the night. She includes games such as a pie-eating contest, bonfire to make s'mores, and even an engaging corn maze with puzzles to solve! With such creativity, Val has become a sensation within her community!

8. Doctor Ron

Have you ever planted a tree? Join Doctor Ron as she organised her own campaign called "With Trees, There's Love". Typically, November is when Doctor Ron works with her community to plant trees in urban areas, as a way to bring more greenery into our world. She thought that instead of just planting a few trees, why not aim for a thousand?! To get more people involved, Doctor Ron spread news among her colleagues at the hospital and has attended class lectures to encourage students to join her. She strongly emphasises the importance of sustainabiloty and conserving the environments, which led to more than 100 students showing up! This event normally takes place a week before Thanksigivng, where volunteers are provided seeds and shovels. With everyone working together, a sense of gathering and togetherness is felt.

9. Red Ruislip Ruby

When was the last time you gave thanks to a veteran? Or showed appreciation? Ruby is a well-known historian who spends her November designing a "Embrace November" exhibition at the nearby historical society. She wants to dedicate her exhibition to the town's veterans, as their sacrifices often go unnoticed. Ruby spent the last few weeks researching and gathering personal stories, photographs, and letters of the veterans. Not only did she do this, but she got a few veterans to give their life story on how they became a veteran and how it impacted their life. This genuinely brought the community closer together, as they gained knowledge about veterans and felt more appreciative towards them. Because of Ruby, her town's heritage was acknowledged and respected.

10. Tilly Tangerine

Since it's November, that means Thanksgiving is right around the corner! Tilly's favorite holiday is Thanksgiving and since her family and friends were visiting her, she decides to go all out! She made sure to buy the turkey beforehand and get the ingredients needed to make the side dishes. Tilly also asked her friend, Sally, a party planner, to help decorate her house. Both girls made sure that the house had cozy lighting and the fireplace was on. They also worked together to make the tasty side dishes, ranging from mashed potatoes to cranberry sauce. Who knew cooking was so fun when you're doing it with a loved one? A few hours later, everyone shows up! Everyone say what they're thankful for this year, stuff their faces, and play some games after!
