Red and Green, But What Does It Mean? - Day Four Blog Post

When imagining Christmas, whether it be the decorations, Christmas tree, or Santa hats, there are two colours that come to mind: red and green. We may turn a blind eye and associate the colours with just the holiday season, but this article will discuss what the colours symbolise.

From a religious perspective, the colour red is symbolic of sacrifice and the blood that Jesus shed. Additionally, it is associated with love and affection. During the Christmas season, it is a festive time that we are able to join with our friends and family to share those feelings.

Continuously, as we are almost ending the year, the colour green is symbolic of growth and renewal. Like one sees in the evergreen Christmas tree, the colour green provides everlasting hope. It is important to use this time to reset and create goals for the upcoming year.
